For more than 25 years, I’ve walked alongside people as they heal from trauma. I hold a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology and am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, but I’m a Jungian trauma specialist at heart. I believe our deepest wounds also hold the seeds of our growth.
My path to EMDR and Equine Assisted Therapy began with my own healing from a situation that left me with PTSD. I know firsthand what it’s like when nothing seems to help...and what becomes possible when something finally does.
Who I work with
Many of the people I see carry wounds from early childhood, or live with complex, chronic, or acute PTSD. Some are working to understand the triggers behind addiction relapse. Others are caught in patterns of painful relationships, negative beliefs, or reactions that don’t make sense to them, and they’re ready to understand why. I also have a special place in my practice for those who spend their lives caring for others: first responders, medical professionals, and fellow mental health clinicians. If you’re experiencing burn out, secondary trauma, or compassion fatigue, you deserve the same care you give to everyone else.
How I work
My approach is depth-oriented, which means, we look not only at your symptoms but at what lies beneath them.
I’m an EMDRIA-Certified EMDR Therapist. I weave EMDR together with Parts Work (IFS), Sandtray, DreamTending, and the Hero’s Journey. This integrated approach reaches beneath the surface to the whole memory network, where real change becomes possible, helping you move free of what has kept you stuck.
For some clients, I also offer Connection-Focused Equine-Assisted Therapy at a ranch in Poulsbo. Working on the ground with horses offers an experiential path to healing, especially for those who find that words alone don’t reach far enough. Equine-Assisted work can also complement therapy you’re doing with another clinician.
What to expect
We’ll move at a pace that feels safe for you. You don’t have to have everything figured out or know exactly what you need. You only need to be ready to begin.
